But recently they stopped. I had to reinstall the app. Worked perfect, then the notifications stopped.again.

Chamberlain Myq App Problems

My phone has had a series of system updates. I'm not sure if the two are related but it sure is coincidental. Although, my husband and I have the exact same phone, he also has had a system update, but he's still receiving notifications. I guess I will have to do another reinstall. 11/13/17 Update: Once again, I have stopped receiving notifications of when my garage door opens and closes. And once again, I will do another reinstall. Note: I have a Samsung Note 4 that is current in software.

My husband has the exact same phone but continues to receive notifications. Works perfectly. However, we need to be allowed to decide for ourselves if we want to have the ability to close and open the garage door via voice command with google assistant or other voice activated assistant. Chamberlain, please tell us when you will make your paid service for use with voice control fully functional at the user's choice? This is a serious downfall.

All that's needed is turning on both opening and closing for the garage door via voice control and add a disclaimer if Chamberlain requires one. This should by the clients 'risk' to take at their choice.

I don't see a point paying for voice control of my garage door if I can't open AND close the door via voice. Please advise. Best regards, Andrew. I'm on the fence with this product. Its neat the way it is designed to work.

It makes your old garage door opener smart. On the down side, its unreliable. My doors always open with the app, but never close. It goes through the obnoxious warming beeps ect, but no closed door, no lights on my opener showing it had a problem.

Also, charging for IFTTT and Google home support is just flat out low, especially when the product is flakey to start with. Anyone looking to setup garage door automation, I suggest looking to a different solution. I haven't tried any of the other, but I do find the myq rather lacking. Not reliable in advising if door is open or closed. At least a few times the app said the door was opened when it was closed. Then by using the app to close the door, the door actually opened. Also this company is the only smart device maker to make the not so smart decision to charge users a $12 recurring fee for using IFTTT, Alexa, or Google Home to close or check on door status.

They also provided a schedule to auto close the door at a set time but then disabled it for all users since they couldn't figure out how to reliably get it to work. Definitely look elsewhere for a smart garage door.

Well i was sceptical at first about uaing the Wi-Fi but it has not failed me yet and I have had it little over a month.it has done wonders. I can go on vacation and let anyone into the house anytime and not have to worry about giving keys out anything.all they do is text me they there i hit open and they tell me when there done and I hit close.never have had an issue yet and absolutely love the Wi-Fi for this unit. If you are thinking about getting one I highly recommend this product. This product is unreliable, which means it can't replace the traditional garage opening mechanisms. Many a time the app would say that the garage door is left open while it is closed, or more worryingly, say it's closed while it is actually open. App would also crash or simply unable to log onto Chamberlain's system, leaving you locked out just outside your own garage door.

This apps also requires a separate subscription to work with Google Home or IFTTT, which is mind-boggling since they are not even Chamberlain's technologies. Plain profiteering.

The myQ app allows you to easily open, close or check the status of your garage door, commercial door, gate or myQ home lighting from anywhere using your mobile device. The myQ app supports myQ-enabled products from Chamberlain, LiftMaster.Additional Features:.Set up alerts that notify you when there’s activity.Set schedules to close your garage doors or gates or to have your lights turn on/off.Grant access with myQ GuestsFor myQ smartphone control you need one of the following products:.A Wi-Fi garage door opener enabled with myQ technology.A myQ accessory to upgrade a non-Wi-Fi garage door openerTo upgrade your existing opener with smartphone control, visit www.myQ.com for accessory options. Angel-iq, Not always reliableI own the LiftMaster garage door opener for approximately 8 months, and it works fine. However, the App is the problem. In theory, the concept is amazing — to open your garage door remotely.

However, if it would be more reliable, then it would be worthy of more stars. There is a glitch that doesn’t always alert you when the door has either opened or closed, causing you to panic if you are away from your home and see one alert without the other. The second glitch causes an error message that doesn’t allow you to close the door and forces you to “reset” it by manually pushing the Liftmaster button.

Well, if you are remote, there is no way to manually reset it, so your garage door remains open while you are not home. The third glitch keeps you waiting in permanent hourglass mode until the app times out so you are unable to open or close the door. Please update the app to fix these bugs. It needs to be more reliable 60% of the time. The 40% of the failures can be detrimental if you are not home to do the fixes that are required. Elle-jb, Works 98% of the time!I really like it since I live in a town home and the neighbors garage is under no bedroom and so it sometimes makes it hard to decipher whose garage it is so it gives me the ease of mind that it’s not my house and I have been able to open it from work one day when someone was dropping stuff off at the house and that was awesome!

Timbers2, Remote Access Very UsefulWe have 2 garage door openers and a gate opener. When we first installed these about 6 months ago I was just looking for reliable equipment and thought the remote control through the AP feature was a joke. I was thinking “come on, does your garage opener really need to be hooked up to the internet “. What will they think of next - a toilet you can flush from a 1,000 miles away.Well, was I wrong. About a month after installing this equipment I decided to get the AP going.

It turns out to be a very useful feature. We travel a lot and for the last 3 months we have been doing a lot of remodeling at that house. I can’t tell you how many times I have opened the gate and garage doors for workmen from 300 miles away.

Every night I can check to see if everything has been closed and locked up. The AP also alerts me if I forget to close the gate or garage doors at night. A really nice safety feature.

Chamberlain Myq App Troubleshoot

Bottom line is that it works reliably and has turned out to be one of the most useful pieces of home automation that we have.
